Bokjori (Kor. 복조리, Chin. 福笊籬, lit. fortune strainer) is a symbolic festival object conceived from a jori (Kor. 조리, Chin. 笊籬, lit. strainer), a bamboo-woven kitchen utensil used for washing rice before cooking.
According to the Korean tradition, people buy strainers as good luck charms in the early morning of the Lunar New Year‘s Day and hang them high on a wall in their house.
